Tencel™ Lyocell is an eco-friendly material made from wood (yes, wood!), primarily eucalyptus.
It is also called "vegetable silk", because it is as soft as silk but made of wood.
It is a material with ideal properties for the night and pyjamas : breathable, light and thermo-regulating to be neither too hot nor too cold, whatever the season.
But it is above all a durable and ecological material because of its manufacturing process.
Eucalyptus trees come from sustainably managed and FSC certified forests and require little water to grow.
To transform the wood pulp extracted from eucalyptus into yarn fiber, a natural, non-toxic and 99.7% recycled solvent is used. This avoids any discharge into nature, unlike other materials such as viscose.
The production of Tencel™ Lyocell is also low in water consumption. Compared to cotton, it takes 5 times less water to produce 1kg of Tencel™ Lyocell compared to 1kg of cotton.
